Westchase Hilton solicits donations for Texas Army National Guard

Care packages are being assembled for members of the Texas Army National Guard, currently deployed in Iraq.

The Texas Army National Guard Unit based in Houston, has deployed to Iraq and is not scheduled to return for a year.  The Hilton Houston Westchase is arranging to send care packages to the soldiers to let them know they are missed and that we appreciate their service. 

The bags will be packaged on February 14.  Please bring your donations to the front desk of the Hilton between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.  The Hilton is located at 9999 Westheimer (at Briarpark).  Donations must be received by Friday, February 12, 2010. 

Here is a list of some of the items the soldiers have requested:

• Single servings of Kool-Aid, Country Time, or Walmart brand powder that is mixed with bottled water.
• Travel packs of Clorox wipes
• Tic Tacs, gum, mints, Girl Scout cookies
• Stationery, pens, envelopes
• Summer sausage, cheese, jerky
• Toilet Paper
• Shampoo, conditioner
• Pistachios, Peanuts, Corn Nuts, Almonds, Mixed Nuts
• Lotion
• Sun Block
• Magazines, crossword puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, books
• Hand Sanitizer
• Cards, travel grames
• Pre-paid calling cards
• Disposable Cameras
