Westchase District
Q: What is Westchase District?
A: The Westchase District organization was created to promote economic development within the Westchase area of Houston. Our geographic boundaries are determined by law. Businesses within the Districts boundaries pay assessments (9 cents/$100 valuation) over and above their city and county taxes to receive the enhanced services offered by the Westchase District office, including beautification efforts, public safety initiatives, mobility improvements, and marketing programs. Q: Does this website exclusively serve Westchase District businesses?
A: All businesses listed on this website are located within the geographic boundaries of the Westchase District. Neighborhood organizations and individuals outside the Westchase District may post classified ads and community event listings.
Registration
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search ads without registering. You should still register, to save time, as the site will remember various preferences for you. If you want to create ads, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.
Pricing and Payment
Q: How Much Do Ads Cost?
A: Separate pricing schedules exist for community (business) and real estate ads. Only Westchase District companies may buy banner ads or have business listings in the community section. Basic business listings (including company name, address, and phone number) in the community section are free and enhanced or featured listings may be purchased for an additional charge. There is a nominal charge for real estate ads. Classified listings are free. Employment listings are free and available to Westchase District businesses only.
Q: How Long Does an Ad Run?
A: Classified and real estate ads pay me posted for a 30-day run. Westchase District businesses may post job listings for 30 days and renew the listing for another 30 days. Westchase District businesses have a basic free listing on the site for as long as their business operates in Westchase District. If the business moves out of the District, the free listing will be terminated. Enhanced listings may be purchased
Creating and Managing Ads
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create ads. Registration is free.
Business/Community Ads
Q: I want to revise my Westchase District business listing. Where do I start?
A: If youve been provided a temporary user name and password by the Westchase District, please use it to sign on. Then click my account to make changes to your pre-populated listing. Dont forget to change your user name and ID, so that you may maintain the security of your listing and your user profile.
If you have not been provided a temporary user name/password by the Westchase District, simply click on the please register bar at the top of the page. You will be asked to register as a business or register as an individual. Please note that each business may only have one registered user. Other staff may register as individuals, but will not have access to change your business listing.
Q: I'm registered. How do I create ads for my business?
A: Login, then click on My Account. Then click on create new community ad. A basic listing includes your business name, address, phone number, and description of your business. For an extra fee, you may upload photos and coupons, become a featured listing, or include a link to your business website.
Q: Whats the difference between subscription and non-subscription listings?
A: Subscription pricing allows you to purchase multiple listings (all featured) for your business. Non-subscription pricing is for single listings and allows you to choose the features you want (coupons, photos, web link, etc.) To purchase multiple listings, click on your subscriptions on the My account page.
Q: How do I pay for enhanced listings?
A: You may charge the fees to Visa or MasterCard, using authorize.net.
Q: I created a business ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: You need to run your ad. Go to My Account and click on Run ad to the left of the ad you wish to run. The system will ask for your credit card information, and your ad will run as soon as your payment is processed.
Q: What category should I put my ad in?
A: Choose the category that most closely describes your business or services. If you want to run multiple listings, choose other categories, as appropriate. For example, a private school might want a listing on the schools page and also on the apartment living page.
Q: What is my region?
A: Your region for your business listing is always Westchase District. The regions are used more in the classified and real estate listings to describe homes or items offered by sellers in neighborhoods adjacent to Westchase District.
Q: May I post photos or coupons?
A: Yes, if you have paid the additional fee. For $50, you may include up to ten photos with your business listing. Your business may post coupons for an additional $50. Or for $199, your business may purchase the Silver advertising package that includes a mention in our quarterly newsletter Westchase Today.
Q: May I link to my company's website?
A: Yes, if you have paid the additional fee. That is also included in the Silver advertising package.
Q: Why does my business listing have to be approved?
A: The Westchase District approves all business listings. We will first determine that your business is, in fact, located within Westchase District boundaries. And we will determine that your ad meets our other terms and conditions. Generally, your ad must be appropriate for all ages and advertise a legal product or service. Ads will be approved daily.
Classified Ads
Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: If you don't see an appropriate category, choose other.
Q: I sold my car. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the My Account page, click on the Stop link to the left of the ad.
Q: What region should I put my ad in?
A: The region you live in. By default the region will be the region you specified on your profile when you registered, but you can change this at any time.
Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show a person ads in their region first, then ads from outside their region.
Q: Why does my classified ad have to be approved?
A: The Westchase District approves all classified listings. Well simply make sure that your ad meets our other terms and conditions. Generally, your ad must be appropriate for all ages and advertise a legal product or service.
Real Estate Ads
Q: What category should I put my ad in?
A: The region your property is in. If your property is in the Westchase area, select Texas>Houston>Westchase area. By default the region will be the region you specified on your profile when you registered, but you can change this at any time.
Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show a person ads in their region first, then ads from outside their region.

Q: Why does my real estate listing have to be approved?
A: The Westchase District approves all real estate listings. All commercial, industrial and land listings must feature property within Westchase District boundaries. Residential listings may feature for-sale homes and townhomes in any of the West Houston neighborhoods that are near the Westchase District. These include, but are not limited to, Alief, Ashford, Briargrove Park, Lakeside, Tanglewilde, Village West, Walnut Bend, Westbriar, and Woodlake. We'll determine that your listing is within our geographical boundaries and that your ad meets our other terms and conditions. Ads will be approved daily.
Privacy
Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page.
Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.
